History

Yoko Fresh Food, the former IDB Belgium was established by the family Beuls in 1967.
Their first activity was door-to-door sales of dairy products. Thanks to its extensive and exclusive product range, IDB could also supply various cheese specialist shops and department stores. In 1972 the idea was conceived to pack cheese and meat in consumer units. This new range became so successful that urgent investments had to be realized in the early eighties.

Chance would have it that at that same time Irish Dairy Board (an Irish holding) was looking for a suitable partner for the distribution and sale of Kerrygold products on the main land. After some time this cooperation resulted in a take-over of Yoko Fresh Food by the Irish Dairy Board (1988). This new organisation had the objective to become a specialist in the packaging of cheese. In order to realise this, a new production hall was built in the middle of the nineties. After the completion of these works, the meat activity was sold and the company specialized in the packaging of cheese. As from that moment systematic investments were made into new machinery, which increased the production capacity from 8.000 to almost 30.000 M.T. a year.

Thanks to a complete renovation of the cold storage depot we currently have a storage capacity of over 35.000 M.T. a year.
In order to realise a continuous growth we need a permanent investment plan. In this respect we currently bought a fully automatic shaving and unfoiling machine, which allowed us to optimize the quality of our production process.
